Silver 90% Bag – $250 Face Value
Before 1965, U.S. dimes and quarters contained 90% silver and 10% copper.
A $250 silver bag holds approximately 178 troy ounces of silver. While 40% silver bags exist, the more common type is the 90% silver bag.
In the marketplace, these silver bags are often called “junk silver.” This term doesn't reflect the silver's quality but indicates the coins have been removed, or "junked," from circulation.
